Welcome!

Welcome to the official website of the Lancashire Chess Association.

What you see on this Home page is (as they say) only the tip of the iceberg. Please explore the rest of our site and you will find information that is of interest to all Lancashire chess players, whether young or old, beginner or grandmaster. Additional information is added to the site frequently, so keep coming back for more!

To avoid cluttering up this Home page, we have moved all information on content changes and additions to our What's New? page.

If you have comments, feedback or further questions about information on this site please get in touch through our feedback form.

Junior Players Course

Lancashire Chess Association's Chief Junior Coach, Dave Gaston, has produced a Junior Players Course.

The aim of this course is to take new players to chess, teach them the basics of the game, and then show them techniques and strategies to bring them up to a standard where they can hold their own in a competitive game, whether it be league or congress.

The course manual is ideal for anybody running a junior chess club. To obtain a free copy, please get in touch through our feedback form.
